This article reviews the scientific foundations and efficacy of existential therapies. We discuss underlying epistemologies, clinical and therapeutic assumptions and overall effects. We follow a pluralistic methodological paradigm, where possible describing systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses and community-representative surveys.
