This article is about the evolution of existential psychotherapy in Central Asia, from Soviet-era psychiatry to modern practices. It emphasises the approach’s special congruence with the region’s cultural and philosophical traditions. These traditions focus on interconnectedness with nature, spiritual dimensions and trust in natural life processes. So cultural congruence, academic integration and unique challenges all position existential therapy as an authentic response to regional mental health needs.
