Bridge as process, breaches and raptures, tragicomedy of life, therapeutic encounter, presence Preparing the presentation and this subsequent article was challenging, particularly in articulating complex ideas in a non-native language. I struggled to clearly conceptualise the process I aimed to describe, feeling a disconnect between my intention and what I expressed. This process got even more complicated by a period of successive illness and numerous social and professional distractions. At times, the temptation to avoid this undertaking altogether, to surrender to my shyness and withdraw, was strong. Yet, gradually, clarity emerged and the path forward became apparent. It was profound that I was experiencing exactly what I wanted to talk about.Abstract
This article explores the tragicomic nature of human existence, emphasising the interplay between rupture and repair within life’s unpredictable narrative. Drawing from philosophical reflections, it attempts to describe the constant cycle of breaching and bridging, within the therapeutic encounter as well.
