Race: Can we, should we, suspend judgement?

Abstract

This paper explores the challenge racism presents to our ability to engage successfully with our clients. With the recent focus on anti-racism and psychological research on unconscious racial bias, our understanding of racism is examined. The suitability of descriptive versus interpretative therapeutic approaches is considered.
