This paper considers how some forms of specialisation in psychology and psychotherapy can transform people into deviations from imaginal norms and problematise these people’s existence. I propose that we embrace liberatory approaches to specialism and the ways in which our liminality of being(s)-between-worlds or existing-between-worlds can disrupt imaginal norms.
