Abstract

This paper discusses the role of water imagery in Camus’ last complete novel, and relates it to the experience of the absurd. The richness and complexity of meaning that is to be found in the Camus’ carefully constructed metaphorical systems demonstrate his virtuosity as a l iterary philosopher.
